Introduction to the Office of Research, Technology, and Innovation

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Technology, and Innovation at the University of Kurdistan was established to organize, direct, and enhance scientific, research, and technological activities in response to regional and national needs in specialized, social, and technological fields. With a strategic and forward-looking approach, this office plays a key role in the policy-making, planning, and evaluation of the university's research performance and strives to provide a suitable platform for scientific development and innovation.

The main responsibilities of this office include the following:

  • Managing and supervising the university's research affairs, including the formulation of strategic research plans and their implementation within the framework of the university's macro-objectives;
  • Analyzing and evaluating the performance of scientific and educational departments and providing corrective and strategic recommendations to decision-making authorities;
  • Developing research and technological infrastructure, including equipping laboratories, research centers, and information systems;
  • Supporting innovation centers, research institutes, and centers of excellence with the aim of enhancing the quality of scientific and technological outputs;
  • Creating and strengthening effective interaction between the university, industry, and society through the management of community and industry relations, and the development of growth and entrepreneurship centers.

By focusing on the real needs of the community and the region, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Technology, and Innovation at the University of Kurdistan seeks to play an effective role in strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem by advancing scientific levels and developing new technologies, and to be recognized as one of the main pillars of sustainable scientific development in western Iran.
