International Student Admission Requirements:

General Requirements
- No legal prohibition for continuing education in terms of educational regulations and current laws, and no residency prohibition in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- Valid passport.
- Educational documents of previous levels approved by relevant authorities.
- Commitment to abide by the University's educational, student, and disciplinary standards and regulations.
- Sufficient finances to pay for study expenses in the Islamic Republic of Iran (particularly for non-scholarship applicants).
- Registration and participation in Persian language classes at one of the Persian language education centers approved by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran for non-Persian speakers.

Note: If the applicant has completed one of their previous academic levels at a university or higher education institution in the Islamic Republic of Iran and successfully graduated, there is no need for retraining in Persian language.

Specific Requirements:

A) Bachelor's Degree:
Applicants for continuing their studies at Bachelor's degree level must hold a high school diploma (equivalent to the end of secondary education in Iran) and pre-university or equivalent, with a cumulative grade point average of 12 (out of 20) or 60 (out of 100).
The educational documents and transcripts issued by the affiliated universities of the applicant must be approved by the embassy or one of the representative offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the applicant's country of residence.
Obtaining the approval of the educational department based on approved criteria.

B) Master's Degree:
Applicants for the Master's degree must have a valid Bachelor's degree and a cumulative grade point average of at least 14 (out of 20) or 70 (out of 100). If an applicant's GPA is between 12 to 14 or 60 to 70, if the relevant educational department agrees, the applicant may be conditionally accepted and must complete up to 12 units of compensatory courses during their studies.
The educational documents and transcripts issued by the affiliated universities of the applicant must be approved by the embassy or one of the representative offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the applicant's country of residence.
Obtaining the approval of the educational department based on approved criteria.

C) Doctoral Degree:
Applicants for the Doctoral degree must have valid Bachelor's and Master's degrees with a cumulative grade point average of at least 15 (out of 20) or 75 (out of 100). If an applicant's GPA is between 14 to 15 or 70 to 75 and the relevant educational department agrees, the applicant will be accepted.
The educational documents and transcripts issued by the affiliated universities of the applicant must be approved by the embassy or one of the representative offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the applicant's country of residence.
Obtaining an evaluation confirmation of previous academic documents for applicants who have completed their previous degrees partly in person or online outside the country.
Obtaining the approval of the educational department based on approved criteria.
Final acceptance of the applicant in some fields is subject to the approval of the relevant department after a face-to-face or virtual interview.

Note: The acceptance of international students in the doctoral program is possible in research-oriented route in accordance with the relevant regulations.

D) Post-Doctoral:
Applicants for post-doctoral research programs will be accepted in the relevant fields of the university based on the relevant regulations. To participate in these programs, the applicant must first contact the relevant professor and obtain their acceptance.
Applicants who meet the general and specific requirements for continuing their studies at the University of Kurdistan and are interested in acceptance must submit their request through the international student admission electronic system (click the button below).

Applicants who meet the general and specific admission requirements for University of Kurdistan and wish to enroll must submit their application through the International Student Electronic Admission System (button below). Then they must register their application on the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology's admission system at http://saorg.ir:8081 and after receive a tracking code, immediately informing University of Kurdistan of the aforementioned tracking code.
Before entering the system and submitting their application, the applicant must prepare the following documents for uploading to the system:

  • Scanned colour copy of their last educational degree in JPEG format with an average size between 90 to 200 kilobytes.
Note: Non-Iranian applicants for a bachelor's degree who have graduated from Iranian educational centers must provide their diploma and pre-university documents.
  • Scanned colour copy of their academic transcripts in JPEG format with an average size between 90 to 200 kilobytes.
Note: Educational documents, including transcripts, of applicants who have graduated from non-Iranian educational centers must be verified by the political representative office or embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the applicant's country.
  • Scientific recommendation letters from two professors from their last degree program, in JPEG format with an average size between 90 to 200 kilobytes (for Master's and PhD applicants only)
  • Scanned colour copy of a passport-sized photo with a white background in JPEG format and horizontal *vertical pixels of 400*600, with an average size between 30 to 50 kilobytes.
  • Scanned colour copy of the first page of their passport in JPEG format and horizontal*vertical pixels of 800*600, with an average size between 90 to 200 kilobytes.
  • Completed study entry form in WORD format.
