Message from the Dean
In the name of God
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Kurdistan, as one of the oldest and most influential faculties of the university, has played a significant role in the development of higher education, the advancement of applied research, and the training of specialized human resources in agriculture, horticulture, livestock production, and related industries since its establishment. Relying on its rich scientific background, capable human capital, and appropriate educational and research infrastructure, this faculty has consistently worked to meet the needs of the agricultural, horticultural, and livestock production sectors of the province and the country.
Kurdistan Province, as one of the key centers of agriculture, horticulture, and livestock production in the country, possesses valuable capacities in these fields and in food industries. Recognizing this strategic position, the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Kurdistan has prioritized the development of sustainable agriculture, increased productivity, preservation of water and soil resources, and the promotion of food security. The presence of specialized educational departments, experienced and young faculty members, educational facilities, laboratories, greenhouses, farms, and well-equipped workshops enables education and research to be conducted in a targeted, problem-oriented manner, tailored to the region’s climatic and economic conditions.
We believe that effective collaboration between the university and executive departments, farmers, gardeners, livestock breeders, and agricultural sector stakeholders plays a key role in achieving the scientific and economic development of the region. While appreciating the valuable efforts of the professors, staff, and students, I hope that with empathy, innovation, and a forward-looking perspective, the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Kurdistan will make further progress in producing knowledge, educating capable graduates, and serving society, thereby playing an effective role in the sustainable development of the province and the country.
