1. Initiatives Regarding Faculty Familiarization with External Research Funding Sources:
  • ​​​​​​​ Dissemination of calls and information on various grants and external financial resources through departmental meetings and communication channels of the Department of Horticultural Science and Engineering (28 April & 5 May 2025).
  • Organization of the workshop "Introduction to External Research Grants and Financial Resources for Faculty Members" by Dr. Bahman Bahramnezhad (03/11/2025).
2. Initiatives Regarding Student and Postdoctoral Researcher Familiarization with External Research Funding Sources:
  • ​​​​​​​ Introduction of grants and research financial resources to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers by supervising professors, and dissemination of all guidelines and calls (2 June & 16 October 2025).
  • Organization of the workshop "Introduction to External Research Grants and Financial Resources for Graduate Students" by Dr. Bahman Bahramnezhad (03/11/2025).
3. Initiatives to Strengthen Relations with Industry and the Community:
  • ​​​​​​​ Visits to provincial mega-projects in the fields of greenhouse cultivation and edible mushroom production (15 May & 26 May 2025).
  • Securing sponsorship from provincial and national companies for the 14th Congress of Horticultural Science and Engineering.
  • Acquisition of an externally funded project titled "Design and Construction of an Innovative Smart Variable Rate Applicator" (Department of Biosystems Engineering).
  • Completion of an industrial sabbatical by Dr. Mohammad Razmkabir, whose project "Production of a Pollen Substitute Cake Containing Bioactive Peptides to Enhance the Immunity and Health of Honeybees" was selected as the faculty's outstanding project (Department of Animal Science).
  • Active participation in the provincial World Soil Day conference, including setting up a dedicated booth (6 December 2025) (Department of Soil Science and Engineering).
  • Execution of the course "Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Agriculture" in collaboration with the Kurdistan Science and Technology Park (Department of Agricultural Extension and Education).
  • Completion of a sabbatical project titled "Monitoring of Surface Water Collection and Conveyance System Based on Topographical Analysis in the Central Urban Fabric of Sanandaj" by Dr. Mohammad Ali Mahmoudi (Summer 2025) (Department of Soil Science and Engineering).

6. Initiatives to Strengthen the Innovation Ecosystem:

  • Initial steps to establish the university's research apiary as a formal research center (Department of Animal Science).
8. Initiatives in Holding Joint Meetings with Industries and External Institutions:
  • ​​​​​​​ Holding numerous meetings with managers of greenhouse complexes and companies active in the agricultural sector.
  • Holding specialized meetings with Roj Energy Paya Co. and Salah Barzgar Kurdistan Co. (Department of Biosystems Engineering).
  • Collaboration in finalizing a contract between the University of Kurdistan and Varok Chicken Co. (Department of Animal Science).
  • Holding a joint meeting with Garmian Polytechnic University, Kurdistan, Iraq (November 2025) (Department of Animal Science).
  • Organization of the scientific meeting "The Biological Cycle" with the participation of knowledge-based companies (10 December 2025) (Department of Biosystems Engineering).
  • Inviting horticulture industry stakeholders to departmental meetings (17 November 2025).
  • Holding a meeting with a high-ranking delegation from Ural Federal University (UrFU) to enhance scientific diplomacy.
  • Holding joint meetings with the Provincial Water Research Committee and the Jihad-e-Agriculture Water and Soil Directorate (Department of Water Science and Engineering).
9. Initiatives Regarding Laboratory and Workshop Safety:
  • ​​​​​​​Installation of emergency showers and eyewash stations and provision of first-aid kits in laboratories.
  • Organization of a Safety and HSE course for graduate students by Dr. Aram Sharifi (15 & 22 October 2025).
  • Replacement of fire extinguishers (Department of Biosystems Engineering).
