انتخاب عضو هیئت علمی دانشگاه کردستان به عنوان دبیر تولیدات گیاهی کمیسیون بینالمللی مهندسی کشاورزی
The International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) was established in 1930 in Liège, Belgium. As one of the most prestigious non-governmental scientific bodies in the field of agricultural engineering, the organization was founded with the aim of advancing technical knowledge, facilitating international cooperation, and promoting sustainable development in food, energy, and biomass production. The commission comprises seven specialized sections: Soil and Water, Buildings and Environment, Plant Production, Energy in Agriculture, Information Technology, Systems Management, and the Life Cycle.
Section III of the organization (CIGR Technical Sections III: Plant Production) is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in mechanization, automation, and digital agriculture approaches within modern crop production systems.
In the most recent development, the Board meeting of Section III was held on June 24, 2026 (July 3, 1405, in the Iranian calendar), in conjunction with the 7th CIGR International Conference, both in person and virtually in Turin, Italy. One of the key agenda items was the election of a new executive board. Based on the voting results, Dr. Hiwa Golpira, a faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Kurdistan, was elected as Secretary of this international commission for a four‑year term.
The election of Dr. Hiwa Golpira to this international position marks a significant step in elevating the academic and managerial standing of University of Kurdistan researchers in the global arena of agricultural engineering and mechanization. It also reflects the capabilities of the university’s experts in engaging with leading international institutions.
The Vice Presidency for Research, Technology, and Innovation at the University of Kurdistan has extended its sincere congratulations to Dr. Golpira on this distinguished achievement and wishes him continued success and honor in the realm of global scientific collaboration.
