University of Kurdistan Female Students Excel in Region 5 Competitions, Securing Qualification for the 17th National Student Olympiad
Female students from the University of Kurdistan achieved top rankings in the Region 5 student competitions hosted by Razi University in Kermanshah, successfully qualifying for the 17th National Student Olympiad.
In this edition of the competitions, held on July 16 and 17 at Razi University, the university's female Taekwondo team, coached by Ms. Narges Fattahi, won three gold and three bronze medals. The gold medalists were Avin Manouchehri, Avin Faramarzi, and Sarina Esmailzadeh, while the bronze medals were awarded to Fatemeh Moradi, Manna Rezaei, and Kimia Ghavami.
In swimming, Ms. Rahele Yousefi, coached by Ms. Niloufar Mostafa Soltani, secured two gold medals in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events.
In karate, Ms. Paniz Asadi, under the supervision of Ms. Sara Ahmadi, won the gold medal in the -61 kg weight category.
Furthermore, in track and field, the 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Ms. Sarina Jokhor, Ms. Parnian Shojaei, Ms. Parinaz Mohammadi Bolbanabad, and Ms. Hana Karimian, secured first place. In the individual events, coached by Ms. Farzaneh Moayeri, Ms. Sarina Jokhor won silver medals in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints, Ms. Mahsa Mansouri won silver in the discus throw, and Ms. Parnian Shojaei earned a bronze medal in the 1500-meter race.
It is noteworthy that the first-place winners of these competitions will participate in the 17th National Student Sports Olympiad, scheduled to be held in September at the University of Mashhad.
