The President of the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) highlighted the growing trajectory of research activities and projects at the University of Kurdistan, stating that the university's research project acceptance rate reached approximately 60% last year, which is considered an exceptional statistic.

According to the University of Kurdistan Public Relations, Mohammad Reza Hormozinejad, President of the INSF, addressed faculty members on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Molavi Hall of the University of Kurdistan. Referring to the overall acceptance rate of projects submitted to the foundation, he stated: "The general acceptance rate for projects submitted to the National Elites Foundation is approximately 35.8%, whereas the University of Kurdistan achieved an acceptance rate of nearly 60% last year. Given the university's circumstances and the volume of its educational activities, this represents an outstanding performance."

In another part of his speech regarding the university's performance, Hormozinejad noted: "The University of Kurdistan has performed remarkably well in attracting foundation support, with approximately 50% of the support received by this university being dedicated to research projects."

He also announced an increase in support for young researchers, noting that the age limit for certain foundation support programs has been raised from 40 to 45 years.
