Specialized Meeting Convened Between the University of Kurdistan and the West Oil and Gas Company to Enhance Scientific and Industrial Cooperation

In line with the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Kurdistan and the West Oil and Gas Company, a joint meeting involving managers, experts, and faculty members was held at the University of Kurdistan. The primary objective of this gathering was to expand scientific, research, and technological interactions.

The meeting was convened at the invitation of the university’s representative for the implementation of the MoU, coordinated by the University’s Office of Industry and Community Relations, and hosted by the Faculty of Engineering. During the session, the capacities for mutual cooperation between the university and the West Oil and Gas Company were thoroughly examined.

On the sidelines of this event, three specialized sessions were conducted in the fields of "Humanities and Management," "Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology," and "Industry and Mining." These sessions featured the participation of managers and experts from the West Oil and Gas Company, alongside university faculty members and specialists. Discussions focused on the research and technological requirements of the industry, potential areas for joint collaboration, and strategies for utilizing the university’s scientific potential to address practical challenges within the industrial sector.

Among the most significant outcomes of these sessions were the announcement of support for several postgraduate theses, the definition and proposal of joint research topics, and the identification of new avenues for cooperation between the university and the West Oil and Gas Company.

The organization of this meeting represents an effective step toward strengthening the link between the university, society, and industry, directing academic capacities toward the nation’s practical needs, and advancing applied, problem-oriented research.
