University of Kurdistan Faculty Member Joins Sanandaj Public Gathering, Emphasizing the Role of Social Cohesion in National Resilience
Social Cohesion Constitutes a Vital Pillar of National Power
A faculty member of the University of Kurdistan identified social cohesion as one of the most critical components of national power, stating that the empathy and solidarity observed across the country today serve as a significant asset, rendering the nation resilient against crises.
According to a report by the University of Kurdistan Public Relations, Farhad Vafaei, speaking on the evening of Sunday, April 26, at a gathering in Sanandaj, emphasized that the profound bond between science, the people, and the systemic framework has kept Iran resilient against threats and pressures. "The country’s resilience is the result of three components: popular cohesion, scientific capacity, and the structure of the system," he asserted. Reflecting on his two decades in education, he added: "My primary mission has always been in the classroom; however, today the priority is Iran, making presence in the field an obligation."
Regarding the sensitive current conditions, Vafaei termed his participation a modest fulfillment of duty to Iran, noting that the same knowledge previously applied in mathematics and physics for scientific progress is now utilized in the defense sector, demonstrating the pivotal role of academics in securing national dignity. On international pressure, he remarked that despite facing the severest sanctions, Iran has not collapsed but has reconstructed and emerged stronger in many fields.
Vafaei discussed the concept of "resilience" across economic, social, and political dimensions, identifying the state structure as the main pillar that maintains stability and efficiency under hardship. He highlighted that even when infrastructure faced challenges, the country managed without major disruptions to essential needs, showcasing high managerial and structural capacity. Referencing Iran’s history, he noted the nation’s endurance through the zeal and sacrifice of its children, a spirit that remains vibrant today. Concluding by commending the public and stressing unity, he stated: "What must be preserved currently is empathy and national cohesion; while enemies seek division, the Iranian nation has proven its steadfastness at critical junctures."
