The Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Kurdistan announced that the acceptance rate for the university's research projects has reached approximately 60% this year.

According to the University of Kurdistan Public Relations, Bahman Bahramnejad stated during a meeting between the Head of the Iran Science Foundation and faculty members, held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Molavi Hall of the University of Kurdistan, that the university's research activities are on an upward trajectory. He noted: "Over the past 10 years, a total of 138 research projects from the University of Kurdistan have been approved by the Iran Science Foundation, nearly half of which pertain to the past year alone."

He added: "In the current year, 48 research projects were submitted by the University of Kurdistan, of which 29 have successfully secured acceptance."

The Vice President for Research and Innovation emphasized that these statistics demonstrate the university's high research capacity, stating: "The university aims to reach approximately 100 approved research projects in the year 1405 (2026-2027). The funding from these projects provides a suitable capacity to strengthen the research budget and develop the investigative activities of the University of Kurdistan."

He further described the status of scientific research at the University of Kurdistan as favorable, remarking: "Despite certain recent events in the country, the university's research statistics have continued their increasing trend, and significant growth has been recorded in the field of joint articles with foreign researchers."

Bahramnejad added: "Out of a total of 440 JCR articles from the University of Kurdistan, approximately half are classified as Q1 articles."

In conclusion, he emphasized the necessity of sustaining the growth of the university's scientific output and strengthening research and technology activities, as well as relations with industry and society.
