The anniversary ceremony of the Supreme Leader's presence among the academics of Kurdistan was held with the participation of officials, professors, and students at the University of Kurdistan, highlighting the strategic achievements of the visit.

According to the University of Kurdistan Public Relations, the commemoration ceremony for the anniversary of the Supreme Leader's visit to Kurdistan Province was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with the presence of officials, academics, and a group of students at the University of Kurdistan.

In this ceremony, while explaining the personality and managerial dimensions of the Martyr Leader of the Revolution and his role in crisis management and strengthening national unity, the strategic impacts of that historic visit on the scientific, educational, and developmental growth of the province and the University of Kurdistan were underscored.

The Supreme Leader's Visit to Kurdistan Was a Turning Point in the Province's Scientific Development

At the beginning of the ceremony, Adel Sio-se-marde, President of the University of Kurdistan, stated: "The Supreme Leader's visit to Kurdistan Province was a source of grace and blessing and a turning point in the path of scientific, educational, and developmental progress for both the University of Kurdistan and the province."

Sio-se-marde remarked: "That visit brought blessings to the honorable people of Kurdistan and the academic community, serving as a milestone for progress. Undoubtedly, the Supreme Leader's visit not only bolstered hope, vitality, and social solidarity but also further manifested the development-oriented vision of the Islamic Republic towards border regions and the scientific, cultural, and human capacities of this province."

The President of the University of Kurdistan continued: "The presence of the Supreme Leader was an unforgettable memory of dignity and honor for the province's academic community. In his remarks, he identified the university as the center for the production of science, thought, and progress toward the future, introducing the youth as the nation's primary assets."

Sio-se-marde noted: "The Supreme Leader also described the people of Kurdistan as culture-loving, loyal, faithful, and highly talented, emphasizing the necessity of compensating for historical developmental gaps and paying greater attention to the scientific, economic, and cultural growth of Kurdistan."

He asserted: "Since that valuable visit, the University of Kurdistan has taken effective steps in various educational, research, and developmental fields, and part of these advancements is due to the special vision and support provided by the Martyr Leader." The President further noted: "Among the significant achievements of that visit for the university was the support for two fundamental infrastructure projects, the effects of which remain evident in the university's development."

He reminded the audience: "In total, through these two blessed projects, more than 15,000 students at the University of Kurdistan have benefited directly and indirectly over the past 17 years." The President emphasized: "Undoubtedly, developing scientific and research infrastructure is an investment in the country's future, and fortunately, this long-term strategic vision was well-addressed during that historic visit."

It is worth noting that a specialized panel of university professors was also held during the ceremony to examine the personality dimensions and the influence of the Martyr Leader of the Revolution.
