Message from the Dean of the Faculty

In the Name of the Soul’s Creator,
The Wise Inspirer of Speech within the Tongue;
The Bountiful Lord, the Sustainer,
The Gracious Pardoner of errors, the Merciful.

The Faculty of Languages and Literatures, as a preeminent academic and cultural hub in the western region of the country, has consistently served as a nexus for the convergence of diverse ideas, cultures, and languages. Beyond being an academic discipline, language and literature represent the key to perceiving existence, safeguarding national and cultural identity, and constructing a resilient bridge for the dialogue of civilizations. Drawing upon the scholarly expertise of the faculty members, the dedication of the administrative staff, and the diligence of the students, the Faculty has established its mission upon three strategic pillars:

Enhancement of Educational Quality: Providing innovative and standardized instruction in the fields of Persian, Arabic, and English Language and Literature, TESOL, Linguistics, and notably, Kurdish Language and Literature, which stands as a unique distinction and a point of pride for this Faculty and University.
Research-Oriented Initiatives: Supporting fundamental and applied research in the realms of literature, linguistics, literary criticism, translation, and interdisciplinary studies with the aim of generating indigenous and impactful knowledge.
Cultural Engagement: Fostering an appropriate environment for cultural exchange and strengthening literary ties at both national and international levels.
I invite my distinguished colleagues, staff, and students to cultivate a dynamic and inspiring environment for learning and excellence through professional synergy and collaboration. It is my hope that together we shall embark upon a new chapter of academic achievements and honors for this Faculty. I beseech the Almighty for the continued success of all seekers of knowledge and virtue in their endeavors to elevate the culture and literature of this land.
