According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, the election was held on December 16, 2025, during a hybrid (in-person and virtual) meeting of the Assembly of Union Unit Representatives. Based on the election results, 12 individuals were chosen as principal members of the Central Council, among whom is Dr. Farhad Vafaei from the University of Kurdistan.
