 Persian Language Center of University of Kurdistan

   The Center for Teaching Farsi to Non-Farsi Speakers of the University of Kurdistan obtained its activity license from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on 20/01/2016 and started its activities in the field of face-to-face teaching of Persian to foreign students from the same date. The building of this center was opened in Kurdistan University on 08/25/2018 with the presence of the executive vice president and the expansion of Persian language and Iranian studies in universities and scientific centers abroad, the general director of non-Iranian students affairs of the Ministry of Science and Dr. Sadeghi, the president of the University of Kurdistan.

Since March 2018, after the spread of the Corona virus, this center has continued its educational activities in a virtual way, and by holding continuous courses at different levels and multiple classes, it has been able to take a clear path in the field of expanding Persian language education. .
In January of 2019, the responsibility of establishing a chair for the expansion of virtual Persian language education in the Kurdistan region of Iraq was granted to the Farsi language education center of the University of Kurdistan by the deputy of the expansion of the Persian language and Iranology of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. After achieving this success, the activities of this center expanded; To the extent that students from other universities increasingly participated in the virtual classes of this center. For example, in 1400, a total of 106 classes were formed with 1042 language learners, and this trend continues incrementally.
Language learners of this center get to know the culture and civilization of Iran during the training course, apart from learning Persian language courses, and in this regard, each course together with the center's experts and lecturers visit the sightseeing, recreational and touristic places of Sanandaj city and neighboring provinces. and they also participate in two movie screenings at Bahman Cinema in Sanandaj.
Also, films with social issues and in order to strengthen the listening level are broadcasted every two weeks during classes in the university amphitheater halls or the conference hall of the center.
Language learners are tested at the end of each training course and a certificate of participation in the training course is given to them.
The SAMFA international exam was held in this center in several consecutive courses from 2017 onwards, and in each course, many language learners from all over the centers inside and outside the country registered in this center; To the extent that the number of SAMFA test participants in this center reached the maximum level in the country, and the statistics of language learners of this center who received excellent grades compared to language learners of other centers in the country has been very impressive.

Following the notification of the Deputy of Farsi Language Development of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in the winter of 1400 regarding the entrustment of the standard assessment test of Persian language skills in Kurdistan Region of Iraq to the University of Kurdistan, it is possible to increase the participation rate of volunteers in that region to a satisfactory level and worthy of attention.
The presence of professors and students of Persian language and literature, linguistics and experienced administrative staff on the one hand and the new experience of teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers on the other hand, as well as the new and advanced educational facilities and space of the center in the effort to accept the next courses as quickly as possible, of course by expanding the components Quantity and quality are more accurate. It is hoped that in this way, a small step will be taken towards realizing the scientific and cultural goals of Islamic Iran.
